Is this a new idea? Paying what your heart feels to pay?... It has actually been around for awhile - as far back as 1984 it was used by a Restaurant in Malaysia - and is even mentioned on Wikipedia, where it is described as "a pricing strategy where buyers pay their desired amount for a given commodity. In some cases, a minimum (floor) price may be set, and/or a suggested price may be indicated as guidance for the buyer. The buyer can also select an amount higher than the standard price for the commodity."
Paying what your heart feels, really resonated with me when I first heard about a Restaurant using this pricing structure. My desire to share Reiki with people that may have been interested in trying it, but found it to be cost prohibitive, was all the incentive I needed. So for the month of August I am using this pricing structure and I am so excited about it. I have not set a minimum price, clients can just come to me at my Reiki practice and have a 60 min personal Reiki session with me and then pay the amount that resonates with them...with no judgements at all. My main aim is to spread the joy of Reiki to people that may never otherwise experience the benefits from it and so far it is has had a wonderful response.
